We launched ChurchEcoMiser®, our electric heating system for churches back in 2016. We felt the need for a greener alternative to heating churches was needed that remains sympathetic to church buildings.
Originally, we thought that this heating system would be ideal for remote country churches where gas was either unavailable or expensive to install and where oil was often the only alternative; but the use of oil presented its own problems as there was always the question of storage and the risk of oil theft.
However, today there are additional challenges; as we face climate change, we are all looking to protect the environment by reducing our carbon footprint. We are moving away from traditional fossil fuels and towards more sustainable, renewable energies and the ChurchEcoMiser® system has proved to be a popular option with all churches, because if you buy your electricity through a “green” supplier, this system would be carbon neutral.

Electric Heaters Suitable for Church Halls
The ChurchEcoMiser® system offers a real alternative in electric heating systems and every design we produce is individual to each church we visit, and in some cases, installation costs are up to 50% less than those of traditional hot water system.
The ChurchEcoMiser® system mimics a ‘traditional’ radiator and pipework heating system in both style and appearance but without the need for a boiler. Instead, stylish, unobtrusive electric radiators are sited throughout the church to gently warm the fabric of the building, not just the air within it. The system is discreet and silent in operation so it can be used throughout a service.
As there is no boiler there is no additional expense inlining an existing flue, there is no need to damage exterior walls to accommodate a flue and there is no danger of noxious gasses escaping. Annual boiler services and gas safety checks become a thing of the past and ongoing maintenance costs are minimal. Also, no water in the system means there is no risk of water leaks from pipes or radiators.
The ChurchEcoMiser System should not be confused with electric storage heating which mainly uses convected warm air. This warm air quickly rises to the top of the building leaving the lower part of the building still cold, while doing nothing to help protect the fabric.
The heat output from The ChurchEcoMiser radiators is approx. 90% radiant heat and approx. 10% convected heat. Radiant heat will warm the fabric of the building, providing a more even, the comfortable temperature which will also help to protect the fabric of the church, which is an important factor when dealing with listed buildings.
